Girls Education

Education plays a critical role in breaking the cycle of poverty and violence. When girls are kept in school, they stand a better chance of growing into empowered women who transform their homes and nations. We continually strive to keep girls in school, to be educated and empowered.

Every child has the right to a safe, formal, quality education and access to lifelong learning. However, due to a combination of factors, many girls are forced to leave school while others never have the opportunity to go in the first place.

Our Quest for Girls Education:

We aim to ensure all school going girls or all school age girls across the focus counties in Kenya are provided with safe, quality, gender-transformative education to embolden voices and learn to lead. We work ensure that girls realize they are equally deserving of the skills required to succeed.

We focus our efforts on equality, inclusion and diversity. Our programmes goes beyond classrooms with teachers, to also include communities, governments, religious leaders, family members and children in order to bring an end to gender inequality in education.

Zawadi Community Programme - Touching Lives

SDG 4 stipulates 100% transition of children from primary to secondary school, to this effect, the Kenya government based on the act of parliament passed a law recognizing the need for basic education for all children under the Bill of Rights.

Despite these efforts, it is evident that  not all families can adhere to this regulation mainly  due to the effects of covid 19, and the high cost of living experienced in the country.” https://www.the-star.co.ke/business/kenya/2022-02-21-lowerfoodprices-kenyans-protest-high-cost-of-living/” Every child has the right to quality affordable education and access to lifelong learning. However, due to several factors, many girls’ as compared to boys are forced to leave school.

Every child has the right to, quality affordable education and access to lifelong learning. However, due to several factors, many girls as compared to boys are forced to leave school .To this end, we support children especially young girls by sponsoring their education from the age of 7-22 especially. We also support children who have single parents and are at risk of dropping out of school due to various reasons i.e, early marriages, sexual harassment, inadequate learning materials, childhood pregnancies, child labor, and retrogressive cultural practices. We create awareness of the importance of education through mentorship programs, provision of adequate learning materials and facilities, and school feeding programs. We address poverty through economic empowerment of the community, especially among women.
