Ending Violence Against Women & Girls

Zawadi Community Program works closely with the government of Kenya to ensure women and girls are not denied economic or financial resources to which they are entitled. For example, household necessities, medical expenses, school fees, rent, mortgage expenses, or other similar expenses; the denying women and girls the right to seek employment or engage in any income-generating activities; “emotional, verbal or psychological abuse, degrading or humiliating conduct, emotional pain.

Every child has the right to feel safe, both at home and at school.

At Zawadi Community Programme we are committed to protecting children from violence and working with the communities, schools and governments who can play an active role in protecting them from harm.

Across the counties, there is a general lack of alternative non-custodial options and community-based programs tailored for girls’ protection against violence. Consequently, we are witnessing a worrying increase in the population of girls and women suffering violence. Acts of violence undermine girls’ self-esteem, their opportunity to finish school, their freedom of movement, and ultimately, their ability to thrive.
